Spell casting with music and singing

Opening up my Book of Shadows today after some time sent buzzing energies up and down my spine and tingling feeling around body, chest and hands in particular. I also felt immense strength within and had a desire to move my body. I am being drawn back into spell casting lately and what it tells me that there is a need, there is a blockage or a need to release, heal or transform. I love working out what my intuition is pointing me towards and I never resist following what I am called to do. My practice is 90% intuitive and has always been. That is one element that hasn’t changed.

It is going to be an Air element spell, a releasing spell, I feel, as I am getting in touch with breathing, singing, throat chakra, blue crystals and selenite for clarity of thinking and intention. This is about releasing a particular habit that is impacting on me again this year, at almost exactly the same time as last year looking at the date on my spell. This shows me a strong connection between what my intuition is telling me and exactly what’s needed.

Singing and music is going to be at the centre of it, so is moving my body here and there to shake off the threads of negative attachment, which is within my body. Type of music – whatever you want, a mixture of anything I feel, things that you can connect with and sing out loud, the louder, the better, as the aim here is to get things literally ‘off your chest’. Continuous flow of music throughout the ritual and spell, no interruptions.

Extract from my visualization while doing the spell last year:

“I saw the Goddess conducting an orchestra consisting of the Elements. I saw the Crone and a child (my fourth face of the Goddess). Tension in my shoulders and pain in my lung and chest on the right and my back (exactly the same as I am experiencing here and now). Child within me comes up when I am anxious and that’s what leads to the feeling insecurity and wanting an escape (the habit). I feel alone, unsupported, small. The Goddess gives reassurances here of a strong spirit within the child and a heart of a lion, strong, the girl carries an eternal light within her. Red Clover crown on the Goddess, she has short hair (how relevant). I am being told that every time the child needs support visualize the embrace of the Goddess.

When I was making sounds I felt rocks rolling off my chest, off a cliff and dropping into abyss below.”

Unwanted habit, please be gone

Leave me when the candle (black one best, if don’t have white is fine) is done

Candle burn to remove all ill

By the power of my will

Blessed be!

Releasing at waning moon

When we talk of releasing, letting go, cleansing out and ending something it is assumed we want rid of something, but that sounds one dimensional in a way. Releasing something doesn’t necessarily mean we want to get rid of something unwanted, bad or negative. The meaning of true release and letting go lies deeper.
What we do want to engage along with a desire to free ourselves from something is a gratitude to that something we seek to let go off. We say ‘release all that no longer serves us’, which always implies that at one point or another, perhaps, for a long time, perhaps, all our lives, that something/someone served us well. It might have helped us to servive, to cope. Perhaps, it needed to be there to facilitate our learning, our exploration of the world and ourselves ultimately. We needed that something to be with us. When we release at waning moon we don’t seek to throw away and banish, but we clear a space for something new to come in and we say deep thanks to that, which did serve us well at one point but no longer does. At that point it becomes clear that it limits and locks our further development and for that reason it is time we released it, let it go.

Releasing, waning moon spells are simple yet very powerful if in context of what it is that you are doing. Every ritual/spell casting time is sacred and intention is clear.

The Fire element is often associated with releasing/letting go spells, as Fire energy is pure transformational form when when you throw something into flames something else comes out of it. In this case a new you, a new space is created when something dies and something is born at the same time within you.

Other simple releasing elements are Earth, Air and Water and you can use whatever calls to you at a given moment. You might choose to release a feather into the wind or water or bury some ash in the ground. Listen hard to what your intuition directs you to regarding your releasing work. Follow with courage and reassurance that it is the right thing for you.

Magic is a tool, which allows us to use natural forces to create desires effect and if performed with senserity and integrity in the heart, it is powerful work to which there is always a powerful response is produced.

Remember be grateful for whatever had served us and release it with love and understanding, appreciation and gratitude for the growth it did facilitate in you or for the shelter it did provide for your wounded soul at one time or another. Teachers come in different forms and often something/someone  we are not keen on prove to be the most valuable participants in our journey to spirit.

Blessings!

Releasing Fire spell with a drawing, New Year’s Eve ritual/spell

FireMagic
Fire magic. New Year’s Eve releasing spell

I have been attracted to doing some drawing in the last few weeks and I have decided to incorporate that inner pull into my magical workings. Using creativity and intuition are very important to me, as I often find it is the best way to express whatever needs to be expressed in the moment and what can be better than tuning into your inner voice and following your inner guidance to create whatever is calling to be released, expressed or manifested.

Find a quiet place where you won’t be disturbed and what I suggest is just go for it. Some people find that they prefer preparing themselves for a drawing through visualization first. I go with ‘unconscious’ creating, i.e. putting pencil to paper without preparation or engaging with any thinking process. It is a process, which draws unconscious material out of darkness and into the light. It allows you to see what needs seeing in that moment. More on Creative/Active imagination HERE.

I continue to feel as I go along, I listen to where and what is appearing in my body, but mostly I let it flow and whatever is meant to come up will come up. The only thing I say to myself before I start is – Release what no longer serves me. It lets the Universe know what your intention is and energy will align with what your need is, you just have to go with its flow and create.

You can also produce a list, i.e. words on a piece of paper of what you wish to be released with a drawing, which symbolically represents each of those things on your list.

The Moon is currently Waning and it is New Year’s Eve. It is the perfect time for releasing, letting go, cleansing and ridding yourself of anything or anyone that no longer serves you or wishes to walk alongside you with peace and love. This ritual is very simple, yet very powerful and all you will need for this is:

  • Drawing/list or both you prepared
  • Cauldron to light the fire in
  • White, black or violet candle
  • Lavender oil burning (optional)
  • Can be done outside or inside

Prepare yourself with a visualization of your goals, needs and desires and set your intention holding your drawing/list in your hand.  Light a candle and place it in your cauldron. Roll up your drawing/list and light it slowly. Let it burn chanting

Let what no longer serves me

Fly away Fly away

Release me, Heal me, Cleanse me

Happy New Year everyone! Let the Goddess bless you and your families with joy, love, pleasures and delights, good health and success, peace and kindness in the heart.

Much love

Raw Nature Spirit
